Black History Month
The Racialised Students’ Collective works with a number of campus groups and university partners to host our annual Black History Month events in February. Visit our events tab to see the most up-to-date events listing.
Our staple events include:
These Words of Mine
These Words of Mine is a night of Black excellence through different artistic platforms. The night features an array of performers including poetry, musicians, drama and other artistic mediums. The night also features great food, vendors and other opportunities to celebrate Black excellence. To volunteer or to inquire about performing, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Queering Black History Month
Queering Black History Month aspires to re-insert the lives, experiences and achievements of queer and trans African, Black and Caribbean people. It’s a time for us to reflect, celebrate, honour and complicate all the magic that is cultivated in our various communities.
Get involved in organising QBHM through the Queer & Trans People of Colour Collective, or connecting with any of the Racialised Students’ Collective, RyePRIDE or Trans Collective coordinators.
